HOLIDAY FAMILY FILM FUN
Join us this Holiday Season!
During this time of family and friends celebrating the Holidays, the International Museum Of Art is pleased to offer films to share with audiences of all ages. May your special time together have a Sense of Wonder and be filled with memories of fellowship and love!
What began in June, 2000 as the first weekly Classic Film Series in the El Paso Southwest, the Sunset Film Society (SFS) has evolved into an ongoing film series offering both monthly and weekly screenings.
SFS meets monthly (either on Saturday or Sunday) at Ardovino's Desert Crossing in Sunland Park. Come out early, or stay late, for cocktails and dinner.
SFS also meets weekly at the International Museum of Art in downtown El Paso.
Both film venues are free of charge to the public.
SFS is hosted by life-long film fan, historian, archivist, writer and collector, Jay Duncan. When it comes to the magic of the motion picture, Jay enthusiastically shares his wealth of knowledge, personal exhibits of his own movie memorabilia and in-depth behind-the-scenes knowledge at each and every screening.
Join Jay as he hosts the ever popular Sunset Film Society series and get to know first-hand what everyone is talking about!
The Sunset Film Society is a non-profit organization founded to promote, educate and enrich the movie-going experience by presenting films and providing historical background. Additionally, the cultural significance and importance of film as an art form will be examined.
An overall examination of film through the ages will be presented, in order to show the timeline of technological developments.
Discussion will strongly be encouraged by the membership. In that way, we will all learn and gain a deeper appreciation of cinema by setting forth diverse perspectives and ideas.
