Will Penny

(Paramount: 1968)
-108 minutes- TECHNICOLOR

A portrait of the West as it really was...a dirty, lonely, unromantic place made up of small bleak townships. Extremely well acted by Heston (in what was his favorite acting role) and written and directed with a sure hand by Tom Gries. This under-seen classic is in the tradition of THE GUNFIGHTER, SHANE and HONDO, and ranks among the best character studies of a lonely man out of synch with the time. Cinematography by Lucien Ballard. Music by David Raksin.

Starring: Charlton Heston, Joan Hackett, Donald Pleasence, Lee Majors, Bruce Dern.
