Scrooge (Released as "A Christmas Carol") in the US

Generally accepted as the definitive film version of the Charles Dickens 1843 novella A Christmas Carol, this British production features the wonderful Alastair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge. In case anyone is not familiar with the work, it tells of a miserly businessman who believes Christmas is a “humbug”. On Christmas Eve he is visited by three spirits – the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. Through these visits, his life is recounted, and as a result, learns the true meaning of this most Blessed Season.

Starring:  Kathleen Harrison, Mervyn Johns, Hermione Baddeley. Watch for Patrick Macnee (“John Steed” on the original The Avengers television show of the 1960s) as the “Young Jacob Marley”.
